How to stay cool instead of being too much?
We have to admit that fashion and style are influencing our lifestyle more and more each day. Colorful covers of magazines and artistic fashion photos all provide us with the message of that certain must: we have the intention that the more outrageous we are is equal with being more fashionable and cool. But where do we cross the border between being cool and being too much?
Well, obviously, there’s no exact answer to this question. The only solution is to build our own style-scale. The scale where zero is at nothing special and ten means absolutely scandalous. The most general and recommended style-target is at 5. What do you think about the picture above? It’s a part of Krizia Robustella’s menswear 2016 collection. We would say that it’s moving between 7 and 8 on the scale. Would you wear these extreme outfits? Well, if the answer is yes, you are brave enough to move on to the next step. Let’s see the picture below.
Extreme and outrageous, isn’t it? Moschino’s Pop Art collection means more than simple fashion. It shows an individual and outstanding point of view. It’s clearly closer to art than to fashion and style. Between 8 and 9 on our scale. Would you walk proudly in these clothes on the street? Yes? Then let’s move on to the next level!
Kit Neale’s collection seems to be the most extreme part of our compilation. Nearly 10 on the scale. Or not nearly? We would say 10.
Honestly, a huge part of high fashion seems to approach rather photo fashion and art than accustomed style. You have to build your own classification to separate fashion from art. And to choose style instead of being too much. But who says too much is too much? Listen only to your scale! That’s the must accurate filter to work with. Go for it!
